About BTN

Who We Are

Business Tech News, BTN, covers the intersection of capital and code: AI, markets, big tech, fintech, and crypto. We are independent, opinionated, and US-focused, with a small editorial desk that asks the question that money pages too often skip: why.

Our register is plain, our take is sharp, and our scope is the global money-and-machines beat. Model launches, lawsuits, capital flows, infrastructure plays, regulatory turns. If a name is on the cap table, the docket, or the SEC filing, we want to know what changed and what it means tomorrow morning.

What We Cover

Five beats anchor BTN.

  • AI: model launches, lab moves, agent infrastructure, the legal questions that arrive every six months, and the actual workflow shift inside companies that deploy these tools. We separate hype from where the spend is going. Our hub: AI News.
  • Markets: equity moves and earnings, Fed posture and rates, the AI-stock rotation, and the macro that shapes risk. We treat each piece as a working note from the desk, not a press release. Our hub: Markets News.
  • Big tech: governance, capex, antitrust, and the politics of the eight or so companies that bend the global tech market. Our hub: Big Tech News.
  • Fintech: the boring plumbing that decides who gets paid faster. Real-time rails, stablecoins, payment-network consolidation, and the bank-tech moves that show up in your statement two quarters later.
  • Crypto: BTC, ETH, the L1 wars, and the sober part of the conversation. Custody, regulation, treasury allocations, and what the institutional money is actually doing.

How We Report

BTN is independent. We publish without a paywall. We are opinionated where we have evidence, and conservative where we do not. Our editorial process is small, which we like: every fact gets sourced, every source gets checked, and every disclosure goes in the byline or the Editorial Standards page.

When we use AI tools to draft, summarize, or outline, we say so. When a piece is analysis, opinion, or commentary rather than reporting, we label it. When we are wrong, we correct, on the page, with the correction visible. The full rules are at Editorial Standards.

Team

The bylines and editorial leadership behind BTN sit on the Masthead. That page is the source of truth for who writes what, in what role, and under what review. If you want to pitch a story or a tip, the Contact page is the door in.

A Note on Names

You will sometimes see search results conflate Business Tech News with publications that share part of our name. The South African title BusinessTech (businesstech.co.za) is a separate, older publication, owned by Broad Media and based in Johannesburg. We are unrelated. BTN is a US-focused, AI-and-markets daily run from a small editorial desk. If you came here looking for South African business news, that is not us, and we will gladly point the way.

Find Us

We are working to bring our social presence in line with the work. Once handles are confirmed, this section will list verified profiles. Pending claims:

  • X (Twitter): @businesstechnews
  • LinkedIn: businesstech-news
  • Facebook: businesstechnews
  • YouTube: @businesstechnews
  • Crunchbase: business-tech-news

If a profile claiming to be BTN is not on this list once published, treat it as not us.

Contact

Editorial inquiries, tips, corrections, and partnership pitches go through the Contact page. We aim to reply within 1 to 2 business days. For DMCA notices, see the DMCA Notification Guidelines. For affiliate and advertising disclosure, see Affiliate Disclosure.

Thanks for reading BTN. We are building a small, independent, US tech-and-markets publication for people who want plain analysis, not press releases.
